Day 46 CHILE San Pedro de Atacama

San Pedro de Atacama is in the desert of the same name, the temperature difference with the altiplano in Bolivia is about 20C!

It is a very nice mud village, but very touristy and expensive.... The good thing is that we have wonderful views on snowy volcanoes (the same volcanoes we saw from the other side in Bolivia).

As there was not much to do in the village we decided to go on the next day to Santiago: 1700km and 24hours dus drive. Roughly it's 600km desert, then 600km semi-desert and then mediterranean vegetation.

Arrival in Antofagasta, after 5hours and the nice refreshing view of the Pacific ocean, and the sign indicating Santiago in 1300km!

This is what a cigarette packet looks like in Chile! It says "I have bad breath" with a nice picture.... Much stronger than the anti-tobaco stickers in Europe!
