Lima definitely is a funny place: it is a huge messy place in the middle of the desert. As we reached the northern suburbs at 6am, the signs to the town centre indicate another 35km! Here is the panoramic view of Lima from our seats!
We are welcomed by Marlene and her family with great food and hospitality.
We spent the afternoon in the town centre of Lima. There was even some celebration on the plaza de armas.
The plaza de armas, is a big contrast to the rest of the urban area. Some of the poorest districts go up the desertic hills.
The best place is the rich areas on the sea side, for instance this is the shopping mal Largomar in the rich district of Miraflores. It is a relief from the noise, pollution and traffic of the rest of Lima.
We then had dinner at the nearby district of Barranco, a Bohemian district on the sea side.
On the next day we left at 2pm for a long 16 hour drive to Abancay, on the road to Cuzco. The road crossing the desert along the sea side is amazing, one really feels like being in the Sahara!

Tu ne nous avais pas ramené de telles photos du désert lors de ton premier voyage au Pérou.
Vous avez l'air d'avoir été royalement accueilli par la famille de Marlène. David a l'air d'apprécier son repas local avec épis de mais....
Sinon Jeanine a essayé de vous mettre des commentaires mais elle a échoué et ne sait pas pourquoi.
