Pretty comfortable rooms, we had our private one with bathroom!
We had changeable weather on the way, sometimes rainy and very humid all the time. The landscape is amazing with the rough and dark pacific ocean with its fjords.
We finally reached Puerto Chacabuco in the middle of the night, and although we were promised a bus to take us to Coihaique, there was nothing in the harbour.... So we shared a taxi with local people.
We got to Coihaique around 2am and Francesca, the girl who was sharing the taxi with us, invited us to spend the night at her parents house.
From Coihaique, we continued our journey on the "carretera austral", or Ruta 7, which is the last road going South in Chile, and very few people go down this way.
The carretera austral is unpaved most of the way. Our first stop is Cochrane which is the only town on the way South of Coihaique. The landscape is untouched most of the way
Here there´s not a single town without a street named O'Higgins (The man who freed Chile from the Spaniards).
