Medellín se transforma. This is one of the motos of the current mayor. Their concept is to invest more than ever in educating the poorest and bringing the knowledge nearer to them at no cost! In this programm, the municipality has invested into several brand new libraries located in the poorest districts, in a dozen new colleges equipped with the latest technology and a new lign of metrocable to link the poorest district to the metro.
This programm is a huge success, and some of the poorest district have become a new tourist attraction, where it is nice to hang around and free of danger. This is the case on these pictures, at the last station of the metrocable way above the skyline, once a place where no one would have come up.

The metro of Medellín is more than 10 years old and looks brand new. It is the pride of its inhabitants: safe, clean and fast, it is the best way to get around town.
It is here in the town centre with a famous painting of Botero in the background.
