But most importantly, Zipaquirá is home to Colombia first wonder which is la "Catedral de sal": it is a salt cathedral sculptured in a salt mine. A real pleasure for the eyes!
The size of this cathedral is just a bit under that of the cathedral of Cologne!!

In the galleries leading to the cathedral, there is also a just as impressive via crucis, with huge sculptured crosses. We took a few picture on the way to get an idea of the feeling you get there!
Before heading back to Bogotá, we enjoyed a typical lunch on the main plaza, which is a chicken soup with potatoes, avocado and corn. Note the decoration on the table: a beet root!
There are also very economical on the size of the bill...
For our last night in Bogotá we went up the teleferic to Monserrate, 3100m, or about 500m about the skyline, where you get wonderfull views of the city! We had a very nice French type dinner in the company of Holga and Luis Fernando.
Finally, if you plan on visiting Colombia, always be aware of the risk:
Chao Colombia!
