The view from the top is amazing, although that day we couldn´t see any volcano.
A lot a people also walk up to the summit (4700m), before you had to leave from Quito...

We continued our day to Quito moderno, which is the new part of Quito. A lot reminds of Medellín like the surrounding mountains with small houses on the slopes. Also the middle class "barrios" are very similar, with calm streets and small corner shops.
Here the barrio "Mariscal", which is one of the best areas of Quito, full of young hostels, bars and good restaurants.
This is the "French Style" hotel of this area (whatever that means!)
And some photos of the financial center (it's sunday, so there's not a lot of action on the streets!)

qué bello que estén conociendo otras geografías tan parecidas a la nuestra. Quito es espectacular, quisiéramos saber qué tan cara está la vida allí, por ejemplo cuánto vale un hospedaje, como el de la posada colonial, donde estuvieron, cuál es el precio de una comida en un restaurante, tipo crepes and wafles.
Quisiéramos volver a ese país, con más tiempo.

La vida en Ecuador es un poco más barata que en Colombia, incluyendo la comida. El hospedaje de la posada colonial nos costó 16 dólares por persona pero es porque teníamos baño privado, si no hubiera costado 14. El precio de las comidas en un restaurante tipo crepes es de más o menos 6 dólares.
