Day 16 Bogotá

The mass transport system of Bogotá is called Transmilenio. It's a modern and fast integrated transport system with its dedicated lane throughout the city, since the traffic in Bogotá is a nightmare! And anyway, because of traffic and air pollution, the use of cars is regulated according to your number plate.

The transmilenio is comparable to a metro system with magnetic tickets, stations etc.

Before going on to the centre we stopped for lunch. Keeping yourself clean here is a major concern, so your chicken is served with plastic gloves. Enjoy!

The city has invested a lot in the development of wide public spaces and urban renovation. This is the "avenida Jimenez", once a place you wouldn't want to stay around, and today a great place for relaxing!
